Join us for the offcial launch of The Kawai Scrolls, winner of the inaugural Whistler Book Prize for Independent Authors. The Kawai Scrolls charts the picaresque adventures of a young American anthropologist studying the Ainu people in Japan and examines the concept of indigenous culture from a fresh perspective. Author Louis Druehl, Professor Emeritus at Simon Fraser University, is the author of Pacific Seaweeds (Harbour Publishing) a bestselling introduction to kelp varieties. This event includes a reading, book-signing, discussion and light refreshments.
