Modern writers have an unprecedented number of options when it comes to publishing their manuscript. This full-day workshop will combine an industry overview with personal consultations to help authors identify the option that best meets their needs. The morning session (9:30 – 11:30 a.m.) will review the pros and cons of self-publishing, traditional publishing, e-books and audiobooks. Other topics include understanding ISBNs, working with an editor, professional book design, sourcing printing and the economics of publishing. In the afternoon, (1:30-4:30 p.m.), each participant will meet with one of the presenters for a 30-minute private consultation focused on their specific project. All attendees will also receive a comprehensive handbook of samples, definitions, tips and resources. * Note: This workshop is not included in the Festival Pass.
